Nearly 600 members of the Fresh Produce & Floral Council and friends met at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa Jan. 15 for the group?s annual dinner-dance.

The event was the forum used to introduce Pat McDowell of Perimeter Sales & Merchandising as chairman of the board for 2005.

Joining Mr. McDowell as officers for this year are Chairman-elect Jack Gyben of Progressive Produce, Treasurer Raul Gallegos of Bristol Farms and immediate past Chairman Roger Schroeder of Stater Bros. Markets. Linda Stine continues to serve as chief staff officer and president.

Also on the board for 2005 are past chairman representatives Manny Duran of Perimeter Sales & Merchandising, Chris Puentes of Interfresh Inc., Dick Spezzano of Spezzano Consulting Service Inc. and Marty Craner of B&C Fresh Sales Inc. Harland Heath of Heath & Lejeune Inc. will serve as honorary past chairman representative.

In addition, the following elected directors were introduced at the event: Rick Cruz of Vons/Safeway, Shawn Dagen of Edge Sales & Marketing, John Famini of Sunkist Growers Inc., Amanda Grillo of POM Wonderful, Tim Riley of The Giumarra Cos., Robert Schueller of Melissa?s/World Variety Produce, Eileen Stinson of Marie?s/Dean Branded Product, Liane Temple of Stater Bros. Markets, Robert Thompson of The Nunes Co./RFT Farm Sales Inc., Jin Ju Wilder of Coast Produce Co. and Mike Yuro of K.V. Mart Co.
