Rouses Markets is acquiring 10 grocery store locations in Louisiana and Mississippi from Southeastern Grocers, the parent company of Winn-Dixie. With these additions, Rouses will have 76 stores across the Gulf Coast.

“These Winn-Dixie stores have served their neighborhoods for many years," said CEO Donny Rouse. "We’re proud to welcome them, their team members and their customers into the Rouses Markets family.”

Each of the 10 stores will close for roughly a week to complete the transition, with closures and re-openings slated to occur mid-January through mid-February of 2026. As for the stores' current employees, Rouses said it has invited all Winn-Dixie team members to join Rouses.

When they reopen stores will feature expanded fresh departments, including produce, meat, seafood, bakery, deli and floral. Additionally, they will have the retailer's private brand as well as local products specific to Rouses. "If it’s grown, caught or made on the Gulf Coast you’ll find it at Rouses," the company said in a statement.

Stores will offer online shopping with the same in-store prices for curbside pickup, as well as delivery through Instacart, DoorDash Uber Eats and Shipt.
