TIPA PAC and skeet shooting

The Texas International Produce Association Political Action Committee met Oct. 23-24 in McAllen, TX. Beyond a business meeting, the group broke into groups for a skeet shooting contest. TIPA reported 16 teams participated in the event across the two days. Shooters were treated to BBQ or breakfast tacos prior to their shoot, and the scene at the event was very different from years past as shooters were asked to keep their masks on, be mindful of other teams and their proximity to participants, and assigned tables were pre-positioned for each team. NEPC hosts golf tournament

After rescheduling its golf tournament from July due to COVID-19 restrictions, the New England Produce Council recently held its event at the Indian Pond Country Club in Kingston MA. The sunny skies, warm air and occasional cool breeze provided the perfect backdrop for the NEPC golf tournament, but it was the smiling faces of the NEPC members and guests that truly made the day spectacular. EPC holds Joe DeLorenzo Family Apple Picking Day

OLDWICK, NJ – In a year that has brought the cancellation of many industry events due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Eastern Produce Council’s annual Joe DeLorenzo Family Apple Picking Day was a welcome respite. The event, held Oct. 3 at Melick’s Cider Mill and Orchard, here, drew around 100 industry members on a cool, crisp autumn morning, where they enjoyed hay rides, apple picking, donuts, grilled corn, hot dogs, popcorn, cider, and of course, camaraderie and family time.

EPC hosts 45th annual golf outing

The skies were blue, the temperature an ideal mid-70s and people were happy to gather together again as a council. Postponed from the original date of June 6, the EPC hosted its 45th annual Sal Zacchia, Phil LaRocca and Pete Piastra Memorial Golf Outing at Fox Hollow Golf Club in Branchburg, NJ, on Saturday, Sept. 12.
